Russian language courses

The Russian courses at the Educational and Cultural Center MIR teach the students to understand, to speak and to write in Russian starting from the very first lesson. If the students already possess basic knowledge of the Russian language, our highly skilled teachers (native speakers) help them achieve the next level.

Forms of learning

Small groups

Learning in small groups offers the best value for money. The number of students in such groups is limited to 3 — 6 persons in order to ensure intensive language training right from the beginning. Our specially trained teachers (native speakers) will introduce you not only to the Russian language but also to the culture of the Russian-speaking countries.

Tuition fee:
CHF 50.- per lesson
1 ½ hour (incl. break)

One-to-one individual lessons

Individual tuition allows you to define your program together with your teacher, who can adapt the course to your needs.

Tuition fee:
CHF 90.-
per lesson 60 minutes.

Corporate courses

We offer discounts to corporate clients. The companies can choose days, time and place of the course.

Torfl examination

TORFL (the test of Russian as a foreign language) is the internationally recognized test to check the level of the Russian language proficiency. The test is conducted within the «Russian National State Testing System» which is the part of the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE). Below you find how the various levels of Russian as a foreign language compare to other European languages:

An intermediate level of competence which enables a candidate to satisfy the main communicative needs in everyday, sociocultural, educational and professional spheres.
TRKI-2 Certificate Level II (Advanced) B2
(Vantage)
A relatively high level of competence in Russian which enables a candidate to satisfy communicative needs in all everyday situations; also enables a candidate to carry-out professional activities in a Russian-speaking country.
TRKI-3 Certificate Level III (Proficiency) C1
(Effective Operational Proficiency)
An advanced level of competence in Russian.
TRKI-4 Certificate Level IV (Fluency) C2
(Mastery)
Mastery of the Russian language comparable with that of a native speaker.

If you already speak the Russian language and would like to obtain the state certificate, our TORFL preparation program will help you to do so. This course provides the information about test procedure as well as standard questions in lexis, grammar, reading, writing, listening and speaking. The course is taught in small groups.
